Real Games announces that, as of last Friday, it has transferred its co-ownership of Home I/O to Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne. With this transaction, the university becomes the sole owner of Home I/O.
Home I/O has been a long-standing collaboration between Real Games and Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, combining academic research with industrial-grade simulation technology to support education and training in smart home technologies, automation and control systems. Over the years, this partnership has enabled Home I/O to become a widely used platform in schools, universities, and training centers worldwide.
This transfer marks a new chapter for Home I/O, placing its full ownership under an academic institution with a strong commitment to research, education, and long-term continuity. Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne will continue to develop and maintain Home I/O, ensuring its availability and evolution for students, educators, and researchers.
For Real Games, this step allows a sharper strategic focus on its core products and long-term roadmap, while remaining proud of the role it played in the creation, growth, and success of Home I/O.
Real Games would like to express a special and heartfelt thank you to Prof. Bernard Riera, whose effort, time, energy, and passion have been fundamental to the success of Home I/O. His long-term vision, academic rigor, and unwavering commitment were key drivers behind the project’s impact and adoption worldwide. Home I/O would not be what it is today without his dedication.
Real Games would like to thank Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne for years of successful collaboration and wishes the team continued success in the future development of Home I/O.
